About this scholarship
New Jersey high school seniors may apply for the New Jersey Hall of Fame Arete Scholarship, which recognizes students who demonstrate courage, determination, and excellence in the face of adversity.
Four awards of $5,000 are offered. Recipients are honored at the NJ Hall of Fame annual induction ceremony.
Submit application materials highlighting academic engagement, character, community involvement, and a plan for achieving personal goals by March 1 via njhalloffame.org.
Areté, a concept from classical philosophy, means striving to actualize one's highest sense of self with moral excellence of character.
