About this scholarship

California-resident dependent children of active duty, retired, or deceased U.S. Navy or Marine Corps personnel who are graduating high school seniors in the top 10% of their class (if ranked) or with a 3.6 or higher unweighted GPA, accepted to a four-year U.S. college, and demonstrating financial need may apply through Navy League San Diego.

The Alexander Kreiglowa scholarship provides up to $15,000 per year for up to four consecutive years for tuition, books, and academic fees. Room and board are not covered.

Submit an application package with essay, two recommendations, transcripts, test scores, and financial documents.

  • Evidence of acceptance for Fall enrollment at an accredited 4-year U.S. college or university
  • At least two letters of recommendation including contact information
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Official high school transcript including GPA
  • Copy of official SAT and/or ACT scores, if taken
  • Copy of results for all AP Exams, if taken
  • Financial documents: signed FAFSA and both parents' signed federal tax returns for the prior year
  • Proof of service (Active Duty LES / Retired DD214 / Deceased DD1300)
  • Completed Student Application Form and Student Worksheet Form, plus signed Check Off and Certification Sheet
  • Optional Special Circumstances Form for unusual/catastrophic financial hardship
  • Submit SAT and/or ACT scores if taken.
  • Submit AP exam results if taken.
