About this scholarship

U.S. citizen juniors, seniors, or graduate students (sophomores may apply for junior-year funding) with a 3.25 or higher GPA majoring in horticulture, environmental studies, landscape design, or related fields may apply. Up to 45 one-year scholarships of up to $4,000 each are awarded annually.

Submit an online application, financial aid form, transcripts, a one-page personal letter, activities list, and two recommendations to your state garden club chairman by February 1. State winners advance to national judging. Funds are sent to the college financial aid office.

NGC supports students planning careers in horticulture and environmental fields.

  • Cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Must be planning a career related to gardening, landscape design, environmental issues, floral design, or horticulture
  • Application submitted online at gardenclub.org/college-scholarships, or by email/mail; deadline received by February 1
  • Sophomores may apply only for funding during their junior year.
  • State winners advance to national judging.
