About this scholarship

U.S. citizens attending school in the United States as high school students in grades 9 through 12 may enter the National Ag Day Video Essay Contest sponsored by the Agriculture Council of America. Only one video entry per student is permitted.

Prizes are $1,500 for first place, $1,000 for second, and $500 for third. Winning videos are featured on the Ag Day website and played during Ag Day events in Washington, DC.

Create an original video essay of up to 2 minutes on the current year's agriculture theme, use only original or properly licensed music and content, save as .MP4 or .WMV, complete the official entry form, and upload via the Ag Day file transfer page by the deadline.

  • Format is VIDEO ESSAY only (not a traditional written essay)
  • Maximum length of the video is TWO (2) minutes
  • File format must be .MP4 or .WMV only
  • Submission must be in English
  • Open to students in grades 9-12 (2025-2026 school year), U.S. citizens attending school in the U.S.
  • One entry per student per year
  • All video essays must be accompanied by an entry form
  • Must be original work with limited adult guidance (interviews for research acceptable)
  • Submit via the specified file transfer link only (not Google Drive)
  • Only one video entry per student is permitted.
  • Video essay must be no more than two minutes and address the current year's agriculture theme.
  • Use only original or properly licensed music and content.
  • Upload through the Ag Day file transfer page; Google Drive submissions are not accepted.
  • Submission must be in English.
