About this scholarship
The Nancy Larson Foundation awards at least five $1,500 scholarships each year to promising college students preparing to become elementary school teachers. The foundation was established in 2006 by Nancy Larson, author of the Saxon Math K-4 program, and has awarded more than 120 scholarships nationwide.
Applicants must be college juniors, seniors, or graduate students who have declared an elementary education major at an accredited institution. The online application asks about the experiences that motivated the applicant to choose teaching, and requires an official transcript plus a resume covering employment history, community service, and paid or volunteer work with children.
Applications are accepted from October 1 through November 15 each year, and scholarship recipients are notified by December 31.
