About this scholarship
High school seniors and current college students who are legal residents of Buena Park, California and are enrolled in or accepted to an accredited college or university with a career interest in communications may apply for the Myrna Holmquist Communications Scholarship. A recommended minimum GPA is 2.75.
Total scholarship funding available varies, with up to $10,000 awarded annually across recipients. Winners are recognized at a Buena Park City Council meeting.
Submit the application with three recommendation letters, official transcripts, and a written essay by 6:00 p.m. on the deadline. Semi-finalists may be interviewed. The award honors the city's longtime Communications and Marketing Manager, Myrna Holmquist.
