About this scholarship

Students attending or planning to attend an HBCU who are majoring in education or elementary education, or who are current members of their institution's band, with a minimum 3.0 GPA and proof of 90 or more hours of community service, may apply for the Myra L. Austin Taylor Memorial Scholarship. High school seniors must provide a high school transcript and proof of enrollment before the fall semester.

Four $1,500 awards are available.

Complete the online application with enrollment or transcript proof and community service documentation, plus a minimum 500-word essay describing a teacher who profoundly affected your academic journey and personal development.

The scholarship honors Myra L. Austin Taylor, an educator and community advocate.

  • Award: four (4) scholarships of $1,500 each
