About this scholarship
The MPMA Foundation (which continues the AGMA Foundation's program) awards scholarships to students pursuing careers in the gear, bearing, or related power transmission industries. Undergraduate and graduate students may receive up to $5,000 annually, and associate or technical school students up to $2,500. Special consideration goes to students currently or previously affiliated with an MPMA member company, and applicants with gear or power transmission work or research experience receive preference.
Applicants must attend a school in the United States or Canada. The emailed application requires a 500-word personal statement covering the relevance of the applicant's studies to the industry, career goals, education costs, and financial need, plus two letters of recommendation sent directly by the recommenders and official transcripts.
The most recent application deadline was June 16, 2026; the program runs annually with awards announced in the fall.
