About this scholarship

Open to First Nations, Inuit, or Métis graduate students of Canada in the UBC Faculty of Forestry. Preference is given to students focusing on forest resource management or forest sciences who have a demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in the forest industry in British Columbia. If no eligible graduate students are found in a given year, the award may go to an undergraduate student in the Faculty.

Awards are funded through an endowment established by TimberWest, along with matching funds from the Faculty of Forestry. Mosaic Forest Management is the timberlands manager for TimberWest and Island Timberlands, two forestry companies operating on the BC Coast for 100 years.

Recipients are selected on the recommendation of the Faculty of Forestry in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. There is no separate student application.
