About this scholarship
Chicago metropolitan area high school alumni with at least second-semester freshman standing at an accredited four-year Illinois college or university, working toward a first bachelor's degree, may apply for the Monarch Awards Foundation Illinois College or University Scholarship.
Award amounts and the number of recipients vary annually. Applicants must show proof of graduation from a Chicago metro high school, a minimum 3.0 unweighted GPA, and proof of Illinois enrollment before the award is paid.
Submit the application with work experience, extracurricular activities, two recommendation letters, a transcript, a personal essay, and a media waiver by June 15.
Recipients are selected on academic achievement, community involvement, and communication skills demonstrated in the application.
