About this scholarship
Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship alumni pursuing a Ph.D. in an eligible humanities, social science, or physical science field may apply for a 12-month dissertation-writing grant.
Awards of up to $30,000 support one year of dissertation research. Institutional dissertation support reduces the grant so total funding from all sources does not exceed $30,000.
Candidates must have passed comprehensive exams, completed coursework, received dissertation-topic approval, and finished most fieldwork. Submit a prospectus, budget, transcript, and two recommendation letters by December 6 at 5 p.m. ET.
The MMUF Advancement Program supports diverse perspectives in graduate studies and academia.
