About this scholarship

Students of color with a permanent residence in Michigan or attendance at a Michigan law school who have financial need and a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA may apply for the Miller Johnson Michigan Diversity Law School Scholarship through the Grand Rapids Community Foundation general application.

Award amounts vary by fund. Applicants must submit a resume as part of the application.

Apply through the GRCF scholarship portal by the posted deadline. The scholarship supports law students of color pursuing legal education in Michigan.

  • Two current letters of reference, one of which must be from a teacher, counselor, or former employer, addressed to the 'Law Scholarship Selection Committee'
  • Complete the PDF application form including financial need section
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Student of color pursuing a law degree at an accredited US law school with Michigan permanent residence or attending a Michigan law school
