About this scholarship

Dependents of MEA or MEA-Retired members in good standing who graduate from a Michigan public high school, or a private high school with an MEA bargaining unit, may apply for the Michigan Education Association Scholarship.

Award amounts vary. Recipients must attend a Michigan public community college, university, or vocational institution, or an eligible private affiliate (University of Detroit-Mercy, Adrian College, Finlandia University, or Albion College). Children of MEA officers, fund trustees, and MEA staff are ineligible. Selection weighs academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and school and community service.
