About this scholarship
Applicants to the Mensa Canada General Scholarship write a career goals essay of 250 words or less describing specific academic, vocational, or career objectives. Your essay should cover your course of study, current year or level, and post-secondary institution, plus relevant experience, hurdles overcome, and steps you plan to take toward your goal. Do not include your name or identifying links in the essay text.
The award is $1,000, offered annually as funding permits. Submit only through the online form on the Mensa Canada Submit Essay page; essays sent by mail, fax, or external links are disqualified.

- Career-goals essay of 250 words or fewer, submitted through the online form
- Essay maximum length is 250 words (~25% of applicants are disqualified annually for exceeding it)
- Essay must not contain any form of the applicant's identity (no name, no links to personal blog/web pages)
- Essay should state specific academic/vocational/career goals, current course of study, year/level, post-secondary institution attended, relevant experience (jobs, classes, honours, organizations), and
- One submission per applicant
- Must be submitted via the form link on the official Submit Essay page; submissions by mail, fax, or web-page links are disqualified
- Annual deadline January 31
