About this scholarship
Graduate students currently enrolled in an accredited U.S. mental health program (ACGME, APA, CACREP, CSWE, or COAMFTE) may apply for The Melanie Foundation Scholarship. The one-year award is $2,500, and recipients may reapply in future years.
Applicants should demonstrate past involvement in extracurricular, volunteer, research, or career-related activities. Submit a CV, transcripts, two reference letters, and a two-page essay to melaniescholarship@live.com by March 5. The scholarship honors Melanie Merola O'Donnell and supports candidates committed to the ideals she championed.

- Two reference letters from adults who have known the applicant for at least one year, including one mental health professional and one person who has known the applicant at least five years
- Typed, double-spaced essay of no more than two pages
- Single-PDF application submitted by email; references may be sent separately
- Curriculum vitae (PDF preferred)
- Unofficial undergraduate and/or graduate transcripts (PDF preferred)
- Two letters of reference from adults who have known the applicant for 1+ years (at least one from a mental health professional; at least one from someone who has known the applicant 5+ years)
