About this scholarship
For a second- or third-year student in the J.D. program at UBC's Peter A. Allard School of Law with good academic standing, an interest in business law or corporate and commercial transactions, and a commitment to access to justice or community service. Preference is given to students who are the first in their immediate family to attend law school.
A $2,000 award is available annually. It is made on the recommendation of the Peter A. Allard School of Law. Apply through the continuing student awards application.
The award was established through a gift from Hammerco Lawyers LLP in memory of Mel Beaton (1961-2022), a founding partner who practiced business and commercial law for thirty-five years and supported community service and Education without Borders.
