About this scholarship
Full-time women graduate students in a research-based Master's or Doctoral program in the University of Waterloo Faculty of Mathematics, in areas where women are underrepresented, who are conducting research on climate change assessment and/or mitigation, may apply for the Mehta-Jenner Climate Change Mitigation Graduate Scholarship. Preference is given to international students.
Two scholarships of $10,000 each are awarded annually. The award is paid in equal instalments across two or three academic terms and is in addition to funding in the offer of admission.
Interested students submit an application to the Faculty of Mathematics in early April. Selection is based on demonstrated passion for the environment and climate change, and is made by a committee led by the Office of the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies, normally each winter.
The fund was established by a donation from Adarsh Mehta (BMath'98, Applied Mathematics) and Jeffrey Jenner (BMath'84, Math Accounting).
