Maureen Patricia Russell Marchak Scholarship in Music

Undergraduate and graduate UBC School of Music students showing exceptional promise may be nominated, with preference for voice or opera and consideration of financial need.

Scholarships from this endowment total $2,150; the per-recipient amount varies. They were endowed by friends and family of Maureen Patricia Russell Marchak and by the Faculty of Arts. Dr. Marchak (BA '58, PhD '70) joined the UBC faculty in 1973, served as Head of the Department of Anthropology and Sociology, and as Dean of the Faculty of Arts from 1990 to 1996.

Awards are made on the recommendation of the School of Music and, for graduate students, in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate Studies. There is no separate student application.
