About this scholarship

Open to students in the UBC B.Ed. program who achieve outstanding academic results in the winter session of the elementary teaching field, have passed the Extended Practicum, and have completed all but the final term of required courses.

Scholarships from an endowment established by William H. MacInnes in memory of his wife, Mathilde MacInnes. Award amounts vary.

Mathilde was a school teacher and early advocate for deaf children who established the first elementary class for deaf students in Vancouver. Selection is made on faculty recommendation. There is no separate student application.
