About this scholarship
Grade 12 students completing a high school diploma who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents and have demonstrated interest and ability in music study through structured programs and extracurricular musical activities may apply. Preference goes to students planning post-secondary studies in acoustic stringed instruments, keyboard, or voice.
Two scholarships of $1,250 each support post-secondary music study. Applicants submit an original essay of approximately 500 words on their musical performance involvement, current study, and planned future music program. Selection is based on demonstrated music involvement and the essay.
The Bow Valley Music Club offers this award in memory of founding member Marjorie Taylor, who volunteered with the club until her passing in 1999.
