About this scholarship
Entrance award for students entering any undergraduate level at McMaster University who self-identify as Inuit, or as Status or Non-status First Nations from the Six Nations of the Grand River or the Mississauga of the New Credit. Applicants need at least a 75% admission average and must demonstrate financial need. Not open to second-degree students.
The award is $20,000 per year ($80,000 over four years) and is renewable for three additional years for students who remain enrolled full-time and achieve a minimum GPA of 8.0. Application includes a 1 to 2 page essay on Indigenous heritage and community involvement, a non-family reference letter, and proof of Indigenous identity. Apply through AwardSpring.
Established in 2017 in honour of Marjorie Anderson (Class of '35) of the Six Nations of the Grand River, the first Indigenous woman to graduate from McMaster.
