Margo Jacobson Award in Teacher Education

Open to B.Ed. teacher candidates at UBC Vancouver whose practicum was in a Kindergarten to Grade 3 classroom and who demonstrate social and/or economic barriers to accessing higher education.

Annual award amounts vary. Jeff and Jeremy Jacobson established the awards in honour of their mother, Margo Jacobson.

No separate student application. Awards are made on the recommendation of the Faculty of Education.

Known as Mrs. J by her students, Margo Jacobson has more than 50 years of service to teaching since her first role in a Vancouver School Board elementary school.
