About this scholarship

Black Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky high school senior women (cis or trans) entering post-secondary education with at least a 3.0 GPA may apply for the YWCA Mamie Earl Sells Scholarship.

Award amounts and recipient count vary annually.

Submit an application with two essays (your greatest challenge and what "Lift as we climb" means to you), transcript, recommendations, and optional test scores. Selection weighs academic record, personal challenges, extracurricular and community involvement, honors, and employment history. The fund was established in 1993 to support outstanding African-American women.
