MacKenzie Swan Memorial Scholarship

Open to students registered in the second, third, or fourth year of the Faculty of Applied Science at UBC Vancouver who need financial assistance to continue their studies. Consideration is given to academic record and participation in undergraduate affairs.

Scholarships totalling $6,650 are awarded from an endowment made in memory of Catherin MacKenzie Swan and William MacKenzie Swan.

Recipients are selected on faculty recommendation. There is no separate application.

William MacKenzie Swan was an outstanding undergraduate student and athlete who died in 1937 from injuries received in a fall from the Pattullo Bridge in New Westminster, where he was working as an Assistant Engineer.
