About this scholarship

High school seniors from Jefferson County, Kentucky planning full-time undergraduate or graduate study may apply through Scholarship America for the Louis-Edward Nicklies Scholarship. Recipients must attend an accredited college, university, school of divinity, or school of medicine with a primary campus in Jefferson County, Kentucky, with preference for Jefferson County campuses. Study must be in law, engineering, teaching, medicine, or Christian ministry, and demonstrated financial need is required.

Awards are up to $3,000 and may renew for up to three additional years.

A counselor recommendation is required. The fund was established by Marguerite Elizabeth Nicklies to assist Jefferson County graduates pursuing these professional fields.
