For a University of Victoria History student enrolled in a course on the history of the Selkirk Settlers or early Western Canadian history. Preference goes to a student in a course on Early Canadian History in Manitoba. In-course eligibility rules apply (minimum completed units in the prior academic year).

One prize; amount varies. No application required; the Department of History recommends the recipient to the Senate Committee on Awards.
