About this scholarship

Mount Saint Vincent University scholarship for mature women entering the university for the first time or re-entering to complete a first degree after time away from study, coming from the workplace or after working in the home for career development. Applicants need a clear plan for entering or re-entering the workforce, plus demonstrated knowledge of and concern for current social issues through active community involvement.

In a given year, awards may go to either one full-time or two part-time students. Amount varies. Applicants submit a community-involvement statement, at least one letter of testimonial, a statement of educational and career goals, optional résumé materials, and the Leslie V. Sansom Continuing Education Scholarship Application form. Established in memory of Leslie V. Sansom, a Halifax feminist and scholarship advocate.
