Les Lavkulich Scholarship for Resources and Environment

Open to outstanding UBC Vancouver graduate students in the Resources, Environment and Sustainability (RES) program.

Scholarships endowed by colleagues, friends, and UBC alumni honour Professor Les Lavkulich, who created the Resources and Environment Program in 1979 and led it until 2004, building it into an internationally renowned interdisciplinary graduate program.

Candidates are nominated by a faculty member each spring, and nominees submit a short letter outlining their funding status, work, and achievements. Awards are made on the recommendation of the Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.
