LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Scholarship

U.S. citizens and permanent residents ages 16 to 23 pursuing careers as professional pilots may apply to the LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Foundation for flight instruction scholarships toward private pilot certification.

Generally two awards are granted per year with varying dollar amounts based on training costs at the nearest Cessna Pilot Training Center.

Apply online between October 31 and January 31. Selected recipients must obtain an FAA third-class medical certificate.

The foundation honors LeRoy Homer, first officer on Flight 93, by encouraging young people to pursue aviation careers.
