Lead Podcasting Award

Students in any year of Toronto Metropolitan University's School of Journalism who are passionate about podcasting and audio storytelling may apply.

The award is $1,000. Applicants submit an audio-only podcast series of at least three episodes produced outside academic coursework. Niche topics beyond newscasts are especially encouraged. Submissions may be featured on the Podcasters On The Rise feed and considered for air on CJRU.

Amanda Cupido, a Journalism graduate and founder of Lead Podcasting, established the award in 2022 to support students who connect communities through audio storytelling.
