About this scholarship

Open to a student entering the third or fourth year of studies in Queen's University Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science who has made outstanding humanitarian contributions through volunteer activities both within and outside the university, while maintaining satisfactory academic achievement. Preference goes to candidates who have not received other university awards of higher value. An individual may receive this award only once.

The award amount varies. Students in second or third year submit an application letter, resume, and two letters of reference (one attesting to humanitarian efforts) to the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science.

Established in March 2007 by John L. Hunter, B.Sc. 1969, in memory of his father, Lawrence M. Hunter, B.Sc. 1936.
