About this scholarship
College or vocational students in Oregon or Klickitat or Yakima counties, Washington, with an agricultural worker background and household income at or below 80% of area median may apply for the Larry B. Sanchez Memorial Scholarship. The applicant or a parent, guardian, or spouse must have worked in agriculture within the past 12 months. Prior recipients are ineligible. $1,000 awards may be granted to multiple recipients annually.
Submit a 500-word essay in English or Spanish on heritage, farmworker background, and educational goals. The fund honors Larry B. Sanchez, a longtime advocate for agricultural workers in Oregon and Washington.
