About this scholarship

Chicagoland-area graduate students entering their final year of study and interested in aging, gerontology, social work, law, or related fields may apply. Scholars must be full-time students at area universities.

Selected Kott Gerontology Scholars receive a $10,000 scholarship for the academic year, paid to the university in two installments. Interns complete at least 600 hours of on-site field experience at a host agency (about three full days per week from September through May) and a macro project serving the agency's needs. Applications are accepted January 1 through May 31 for the following academic year.

Supported by the Russell and Josephine Kott Charitable Memorial Trust through AgeOptions, the program builds a pipeline of professionals who will work with and for older adults.
