About this scholarship

Outstanding full-time doctoral students at Dalhousie in sciences, engineering, humanities, or social sciences may be considered for a Killam Predoctoral Scholarship. Canadian and international students are eligible. The award must be taken up no later than the seventh term in the PhD program, and applicants must have spent less than six terms (24 months) in the PhD as of May 1 of the award year.

The base value is $42,000 per year for up to three years. When held concurrently with a Tri-agency CGRS-D, funding is topped up to $48,000 per year and the Killam duration may extend through the fourth year. Recipients must apply for CGRS-D within the first two years of holding Killam.
