About this scholarship
Exceptional undergraduate students from universities in Canada and the United States may apply to spend one semester or a full academic year as an exchange student in the other country. U.S. applicants must be U.S. citizens in good standing at an accredited degree-granting college or university, expect to receive an undergraduate degree no earlier than the following spring, meet home-university exchange requirements, and be fluent in English (and French where appropriate). Direct-exchange applicants must be nominated by their home university. Canadian undergraduates from partner universities are likewise eligible.
Fellows receive a cash award plus a health benefit plan, with orientation in Ottawa and a spring seminar in Washington, D.C. An optional mobility grant of up to $800 supports educational field trips. Students may participate as direct exchange students or as self-placed visiting students.
