About this scholarship
Kentucky high school students who earn at least a 2.5 GPA each year at a certified Kentucky high school automatically earn Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES) awards reported by their school to KHEAA. Home school and GED graduates may earn awards based on ACT scores. Better high school performance yields a larger college award; students may also earn bonuses for ACT/SAT scores and AP, IB, or Cambridge Advanced International test scores.
Base amounts and bonuses vary. Funds may be used for undergraduate study at Kentucky colleges once the college certifies enrollment; KHEAA then forwards the award. Home-schooled and GED students should ask their financial aid office to report enrollment to KHEAA.
No separate KEES application is required for high school graduates whose schools report grades.
