About this scholarship
Nevada Governor Guinn Millennium Scholars entering their senior year at an eligible Nevada institution (UNR, UNLV, Great Basin College, Nevada State College, Western Governors University, or Touro University) may apply if they have a declared elementary or secondary education major, at least a 3.5 GPA, a record of community service, and a commitment to teach in Nevada after graduation.
Four awards of $5,000 are given each year, two for northern Nevada and two for southern Nevada.

The Nevada Legislature created the memorial trust in 2011 to keep future educators in the state.
