About this scholarship

Kalamazoo Public Schools graduates admitted to Western Michigan University who are approved for Kalamazoo Promise funding may use this benefit at WMU.

The scholarship covers tuition and mandatory fees up to full tuition, based on your Promise funding level (65% to 100% depending on continuous KPS enrollment), for up to 145 credits within ten years of high school graduation.

Maintain full-time enrollment (12 or more credits), a 2.0 GPA, and satisfactory academic progress. Eligibility is determined by the Kalamazoo Promise program office; WMU admits students from an official roster.

WMU partners with the private Kalamazoo Promise foundation in a first-dollar arrangement so Promise funds are applied before other aid.
