Undergraduate students in the UBC Faculty of Forestry at the Vancouver campus may be nominated for this scholarship.
Scholarships total $5,250, endowed by the Sopron Alumni and friends in memory of Dr. K.J. Roller, Dean of Forestry at Sopron University in Hungary. Individual award amounts vary.
Awards are made on Faculty recommendation. There is no separate student application.
Dr. Roller came to Canada in January 1957 with his students after fleeing Hungary following the 1956 revolution. UBC's Faculty of Forestry adopted the Sopron University of Forestry and supported it until its students graduated.
