Juanita Millesse Memorial Award

Journalism students at Toronto Metropolitan University who show academic proficiency and proven financial need may apply. Students whose personal circumstances affected their academic performance are encouraged to apply.

The award is $275.

Juanita Millesse was a 19-year-old journalism student who died in a motorcycle accident in 1986 at the end of her final year. She lived at Neill-Wycik, organized social events, worked on the residence newspaper, and worked long hours to fund her schooling. Her mother, Jeannette, and family established the award to help other working students.
