About this scholarship
Gay men enrolled in an accredited U.S. college, graduate, or professional program may apply if they graduated from a Philadelphia-region high school (Bucks, Camden, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, or Philadelphia counties) or graduated elsewhere and now attend school in the Philadelphia region.
Awards range from $5,000 to $10,000 annually based on need and merit.
Submit the Bread and Roses Community Fund application with transcripts, personal essays on your educational goals and activism, and three reference letters. The fund was established in 1994 by Jonathan R. Lax to encourage gay men to pursue higher education, stay out about their orientation, and contribute through activism.
