John Parminter Award in Forestry

Graduate students in the UBC Faculty of Forestry studying social and ecological adaptation to fire may be considered, with preference for those focused on helping societies coexist with wildfire.

Endowment awards established by John Parminter (B.S.F. 1975, M.F. 1979) are available.

Recipients are selected on the recommendation of the Faculty of Forestry, in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. There is no separate student application.

John Parminter spent nearly three decades with the British Columbia Forest Service as a fire ecologist and researcher, and received the Distinguished Forester Award in 2002.
