About this scholarship
Full-time University of Toronto Scarborough undergraduates who have completed second year (at least 10.0 full credits at UTSC, or Centennial/UTSC combined for joint programs) and are Majors or Specialists in Journalism, Media and Communication Studies, the Joint Program in New Media Studies, Studio Art, Music and Culture, Music Industry and Technology, and/or Arts Management may apply for the John McHale Memorial Scholarship in Media Arts.
The award is $1,200. Candidates are considered on artistic merit and potential to use digital media to publicize, produce, distribute, or commercialize their work. Apply with a portfolio and a personal statement of goals to the Department of Arts, Culture and Media by June 2, 2026.
The scholarship was established by Renée Levcovitch-McHale in memory of her late husband, John McHale, an artist and media producer.
