About this scholarship

U.S. citizens with a documented disability (physical or psychological) who permanently reside in New York, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania and are seeking to further their education at college or vocational school may apply. Awards up to $5,000 are paid directly to the student's school.

Submit a one-page essay describing your condition and financial challenges, transcripts, and three non-family recommendation letters. Physician disability confirmation is required after award notification.

The John Lepping Memorial Scholarship, administered by the Lep Foundation, supports students with disabilities pursuing higher education.

  • School transcript
  • Three recommendation letters from non-family members
  • Financial Need Report with parent or guardian income
  • Submit materials in DOC format by email
  • Copy of school transcript
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation from non-family members
  • Completed application form (name, address, contact, DOB, school/college, GPA, colleges applied/accepted, school activities, community activities, employment experience)
  • Financial Need Report with parent/guardian income (2025 income required)
  • Permanent resident of New York, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania
  • Proof of disability via physician letter (required only after award notification, not with application)
  • Submit materials in DOC format (no JPGs), e-mailed to thelepfoundation@gmail.com
  • Physician proof of disability is required only after award notification.
  • Award payments are made directly to the student's school.
