John Cowan Memorial Scholarship

Undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, or graduate students enrolled at a Kansas post-secondary institution pursuing coursework for a geography-based career may apply for the Kansas Association of Mappers John Cowan Memorial Scholarship.

One $1,000 award is given each year. A 3.25 GPA, geography internship or employment, and demonstrated financial need are preferred but not required. Prior winners may reapply.

Applications are accepted from January 1 through April 15 annually.

The scholarship honors John Cowan, who was passionate about the importance of geographic knowledge, and was established in 2012 to support students pursuing geography-related careers.
