John Buchholzer Award

Senior Recreation and Leisure Studies students in their final year at the University of Waterloo, or graduates of that year's Spring Convocation, who faced a major personal challenge (such as being a mature student, a single parent, or living with a physical disability) yet showed determination to graduate.

The award amount varies. One recipient is named each year, and their name is added to a departmental plaque. The award is given annually in October; there is no application.
