About this scholarship

Open to outstanding UBC Vancouver graduate students studying British Columbian and/or Canadian forest policy.

Annual scholarship amounts vary. Members of the BC Council of Forest Industries (COFI), friends, and colleagues endowed the scholarships in memory of John Allan (1945-2024).

No separate student application. Scholarships are made on the recommendation of the Faculty of Forestry, in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

John held roles within BC Public Service, rising to Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Forests, and later served as President of the BC Lumber Trade Council and President and CEO of COFI.
