About this scholarship
U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents who are graduating high school seniors residing in northern California (the 48 northernmost counties) or Nevada may apply if they demonstrate at least one year of sustained interest in Japan or Japanese culture.
One non-renewable scholarship of up to $3,500 is awarded. Funds are sent directly to the recipient's accredited two- or four-year college or university. Recipients must enroll full-time.
Submit the online application with an essay, recent transcripts, and two letters of recommendation on official letterhead. JETAANC supports returned JET Program participants and promotes understanding of Japanese culture in Northern California.
