About this scholarship

Undergraduate Faculty of Mathematics students in their last year of study may be nominated for research completed at any time during their undergraduate career. The student must be nominated by their research supervisor through their department or school; nominations from individual faculty members are not accepted, and the nomination must occur before the student's convocation.

One award of $1,000 is given. The nomination package includes a supervisor letter of support (up to 2 pages; separate letters if multiple supervisors), a one-page research description by the student, a CV, and copies of published or submitted papers if applicable. Department or school deadlines fall before the Faculty deadline (typically April 24, or the next business day if that date is a weekend). The Faculty of Mathematics Research Advisory Committee selects the recipient.

Professor Ming Li and his family created the award in memory of Jessie Wenhui Zou to support undergraduate research in the Faculty of Mathematics and continue her passion for education.
