Jessie L. McLenaghen Scholarship in Home Economics

For outstanding students in the UBC Faculty of Education who are preparing to become home economics teachers.

Scholarships totalling $1,650 are available each year through an endowment established in memory of Dr. Jessie L. McLenaghen (1883-1968), with the per-recipient amount varying. Awards are made on the recommendation of faculty in the Department of Curriculum & Pedagogy, with no separate application.

Dr. McLenaghen was the Provincial Director of Home Economics in British Columbia from 1926 to 1946 and received an honorary doctoral degree from UBC in 1956.
